This Privacy Policy describes how Van Lier Fiscaal Advies B.V. ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares your personal data when you visit www.vanlieradvies.nl (the "Site"), contact us or use our services. Van Lier Fiscaal Advies B.V. is based in Reuver, the Netherlands, and is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy.

Information we collect

When you fill in our contact form or reach out to us by email or phone, we process your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. You cannot buy or pay for any products or services through the website, so we do not process any payment or shipping data via the Site.

Once you become a client, we need additional data in order to provide our services. Depending on the service, this includes:

a copy of an identity document and proof of your address no older than 3 months (we are legally required to identify you under the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering Act (Wwft));
company details, such as company name and VAT number;
financial and administrative data needed for, for example, a company formation, tax advice, your bookkeeping or the filing of tax returns.

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our Site, such as information about your browser, IP address, time zone and cookies placed on your device.

How we use your information

We use your data to:

assess your request and contact you;
identify and verify you when you become a client (a legal obligation under the Wwft);
provide our services, including advice, the formation of companies, keeping your bookkeeping and administration and filing tax returns;
comply with legal obligations, in particular tax obligations;
send you marketing communications, with your consent;
improve our Site and prevent abuse.

Who we share your information with

We never sell your data. We only share data where necessary to provide our services or to comply with the law, for example with:

service providers that support us, such as our hosting provider, email, storage and software providers and accounting software;
parties and authorities involved in a company formation or tax matter who need the data to deliver the service, such as a notary, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) and the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst);
government authorities or other parties where we are legally required to do so.

We enter into data processing agreements with parties that process personal data on our behalf. These include providers of secure AI tools that we use when preparing client files; these providers do not use your data to train their models. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, we put in place appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, generally the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

How long we keep your data

We do not keep your data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

data from the contact and intake phase: up to 1 year;
identification and verification data (Wwft): 5 years after the end of the business relationship;
tax and administrative data: 7 years (statutory retention obligation).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You can also restrict processing, object to processing, have your data transferred and withdraw any consent you have given.
